This work aimed to evaluate the production and viability of conidia of Lecanicillium lecanii growth on solid and liquid media obtained from grains. The isolates JAB 02 and JAB 45 of the fungus were cultivated for 20 days at 25.5 °C in natural solid media (canary grass, needle and whole rice, rice, soybean and wheat bran, grain and ground lentil, Italian millet, cracked rice, cracked corn, grain and ground soybean, grain and ground sorghum, grain and ground wheat) and liquids (needle rice, potato, rice, soy and wheat bran, white bean, carioca bean and pigeon pea, corn meal, lentil, soybean grain, sorghum grain and wheat grain). The production and viability of the conidia were evaluated. The solid media of soybean bran, wheat bran and ground wheat promoted the greater sporulation of JAB 02, and the media with ground wheat, soybean bran, wheat bran and lentil grain favoured the sporulation of JAB 45. The media with lentil in grain, soybean bran, cracked corn and ground wheat favoured the viability of JAB 02 while for JAB 45 similar effect was observed with lentil in grain, grain and ground wheat. Among the liquid media, the highest sporulations were obtained with white bean and soybean for JAB 02 and wheat bran for JAB 45. The conidia produced in all the liquid media failled to germinate, both isolates considered.Additional keywords: biological control; microbial control; entomopathogenic fungi; sporulation, viability.Published
