Soybean genotypes were evaluated for agronomic characters in a trial carried out in a randomized block design with 22 treatments (genotypes) and three blocks. Technical recommendations for the culture were always observed. Heritability coefficient, expected genetic gain and the quotient between genetic variation coefficient and the experimental (CVG/CVE) were estimated for the evaluated characters. The genotypes JB 95-30025, JB 95-5002, JB 95-5002- and JAB- showed the best results in relation to the analyzed characters, indicating potential for cultivation in Jaboticabal. High heritability estimates were obtained, resulting in estimates that indicate accentuated expected genetic gain. The quotient CVG/CVE also showed good conditions for a selective process, except for grain yield.Adittional keywords: breeding; Glycine max.Published
